Faith

143 By faith, man completely submits his intellect and his will to God.2 With his whole being man gives his assent to God the revealer. Sacred Scripture calls this human response to God, the author of revelation, “the obedience of faith”.3 (Catechism of the Catholic Church)

We were created to live a life of faith, with the help of God’s abundant grace through the Sacraments. We were never meant to go at it alone, living depressed, lonely lives filled with anxiety and despair. That isn’t part of the plan. And even though we continually fall short, we can choose this path over and over. It is up to us. That’s the Good News that Jesus died to bring us.

Pray and obey! We are to submit our entire being into doing what we discern as being His will. That’s what it means to pray always. Our actions get turned into prayer because it is a loving response to Him who loves us dearly and wants to guide us along this journey of ours. An in faith, once we have done our best, we know that we can leave the results to Him, that in His hands all will always be for the best.

The Daniel Fast

In prayer this morning I felt called to do something about the craziness I’m seeing in the world right now. I immediately thought of the Daniel Fast, It’s a 21 day thing though, and I was kind of hoping for a weekend or maybe 1 week, tops. However, when I checked my calendar and realized that this 21 day Fast would end just before Pentecost, that confirmed it for me.

Prayer and fasting is crucial in times like these, and so is community. I need to put away those things that are impeding my growth in those areas and listen more intently to what the Lord may be leading me to. So for the next 21 days (starting tomorrow with God’s Grace), I will be taking on this challenge and blogging here. If it encourages anyone else to do something similar, great. If not, then may my obedience to His calling be enough. πŸ˜€ πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

My Monday Morning Prayer

imageDear Lord, I’m ready to step into the life that You have planned for me. Walk with me and guide me every step of the way, and I shall not falter. I ask Our Blessed Mother Mary, St. Zellie Martin and St. Gianna Molla to walk this journey with me also. They were mothers and Β wives willing to work hard to fulfill Your mission at whatever You asked of them. I want to do the same. Speak to me Lord, give me passion and drive and then stay with me. Fill me with Your grace so that others can see You through me. Less of me, more of You!!!

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
